Tractor trailer hauling backhoe digger loses brakes on Somera at Chantilly, hits hauling truck

On November 7th, at approximately 1:30 PM, a tractor trailer hauling a backhoe digger lost its brakes as it descended Somera Road near the intersection of Chantilly Road, crashing into a hauling truck reportedly ascending Somera.  There were no injuries.  Heavy machinery tow trucks were required, the EPA monitored the clean-up and removal of the slick fuel that ran down the road.

LAPD and Fire Station 37 responded and remained on scene to ensure no fire will start.

Residents were in disbelief because the hauling truck that was hit actually stopped the tractor trailer from slamming into the front of a Chantilly home.
