Marcia Hobbs is President and Publisher of the Beverly Hills Courier and President of the Good Shepherd Center for Homeless Women & Children. Marcia is also a board member at the Children's Hospital L.A, the Children's Institute, and St. John's Hospital. She was the president of the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Association for ten years. She has been a member of the Bel Air Garden Club for over 25 years. She has served over 15 years as president for the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts. She has lived in Bel Air since she was born, raised her three sons in Bel Air, and has seen too many changes.
Dan Love is a retired Senior Managing Partner and Global Director of Ernst & Young LLP-London Global Headquarters office. He serves on the BOD of the Bel Air Homeowners Alliance and is the Treasurer. Dan is currently a BOARD member on the Bel Air Beverly Crest Neighborhood Council and he also serves as a member of the council’s Planning and Land Use committee and acts as the Treasurer for the NC. Most recently, Dan has been involved with real estate development through his company, Perranporths LLC. He is a member of the Bel Air Country Club, the Jonathan Club, World Presidents Organization, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of CPAs. Dan lives in Bel Air at his residence on Stone Canyon Road.
Maureen Levinson is an eleven-year resident of Bel-Air and a mother of two teenage daughters. She has been active in the Bel-Air community with emphasis on health and safety. She currently serves as a Board Member on the Bel Air/Beverly Crest Neighborhood Council, as well as serves on that neighborhood council’s Planning and Land Use Committee. She is an amateur radio operator involved in the LAFD ACS network representing the District of Bel-Air, and a former County of Los Angeles Emergency Medical Technician. She has been a skills Instructor at UCLA Center for Prehospital Care – Emergency Department Technicians. Previously she worked in Business Affairs Division at United Artists, Home Video/Ancillary Rights Division, and in the MGM Corporate Office. She was a Director in the Mark Kaner Company, a Los Angeles-based agency for international television networks and studios.
Jamie Meyer is a retired certified family law attorney. Jamie currently serves on the Southern California Regional Board of UNICEF and is a member of the Bel Air Garden Club. She has lived in Bel Air for over 40 years and has headed our community Wildlife Watch Program since 2010. Jamie is married to Charles Meyer (Chuck). They have a daughter, Lucy, who is in 9th grade and is currently the first and only National Spokesperson for the Special Olympics—US Fund for UNICEF Partnership.
James Hyman is CEO and Chairman of Hyman Inc. Companies. Born in Los Angeles, and a graduate of Princeton University, he has lived in Bel Air since 1994. He has been married for 17 years, and has twin boys that attend Harvard Westlake. He has served on many charity boards, and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Wilshire Blvd Temple. Community affiliations include the Hammer Museum, MOCA, The Peterson Automotive Museum, The Jonathan Club, and Hillcrest.
Steven Myers graduated from Stanford University with a BS in Mathematics. He’s a two-time US Air Force veteran, and a highly accomplished aviator. He founded four companies, including an aerospace & defense management consulting company that went public. He served as Chairman & CEO of that company for 25 years. He is a board director of public and private companies and is Chairman of the Governance Committee’s of two public companies. He has conducted business in a dozen countries in Europe and Asia. He is a frequent lecturer at the USC Marshall School of Business on entrepreneurship. He served two terms on the U.S. State Department Advisory Committee on International Economic Policy. He also serves on the board of the Pacific Council on International Policy. Steve and his wife, Vivian are permanent Bel-Air residents. They believe effective board governance is essential to transparency and accountability in representing our community’s best interests.
Nook Suphamongkhon has been a resident of Bel Air since 2007. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree with Honours, in Commerce from the University of Illinois, Urbana and an MBA from the American Graduate School of Management (Thunderbird). Her professional career has been in the International Banking and Finance field. Nook has worked in executive roles for some of the world’s leading financial institutions in the US, Europe and Asia: Fuji Bank, Continental Bank, PaineWebber, Smith Barney; GE Capital and HSBC. She holds the Managing Director roles at Kanta Sahakij and Kanta Enterprise International, private-held real estate companies in Bangkok. She served as a Board of Director on Thunderbird’s Asian Alumni Council from 2003-2004. Nook is married to Dr. Kantathi Suphamongkhon, Thailand’s 39th Minister of Foreign Affair and a former Distinguished Visiting Professor of Law and Diplomacy and UC Regents’ Professor at UCLA. Nook is also the VP-Finance for the WAVE Board at Warner Avenue Elementary School.
Gail Sroloff is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she was an intercollegiate athlete and majored in Exercise Science. She is a founding faculty member of Milken Community High School and started and directed the Athletic and Physical Education Departments until her retirement six years ago. Since her retirement, Gail has been active as a mentor in the Fulfillment Fund and as an ambassador for the non-profit Canine Companions for Independence. Gail has lived in Bel-Air with her husband Shelly for 9 years and has served on the BAA Board as Co-Chair of the Membership Committee and Social Outreach. She desires to remain on the board to help maintain the beauty, safety and tranquility of our Bel-Air Community.
Mark Goodman M.D. has lived in the UCLA area for 32 years, since 2010 in his current Bel-Air residence. Finishing with Honors at UCLA, Dr. Goodman organized and implemented a Basic Emergency Care course and served on Committees in Ethics, Patient Safety, and Risk Management. A Diplomat of the Board of Internal Medicine, he’s practiced medicine for 21 years, teaches UCLA medical students as an Assistant Clinical Professor and sits on the Admissions Committee. Since March 2016, he’s volunteered as Chairperson of the BAA’s Emergency Preparedness/Neighborhood Watch Committee where he’s been instrumental in restoring BAA’s relationship with LAPD and LAFD; integrating BAA’s emergency preparedness with Bel-Air/Beverly Crest Neighborhood Council; and helping establish an emergency communication network as part of a plan to maintain safety throughout Bel-Air. At the LAPD’s encouragement, he’s attending Community Policy Academy. Dr. Goodman sits on the Board of the Wine Educational Council, is a Leadership Circle member at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History, and has been Chair of LACMA’s American Art Council.
Beatriz (Bibi) Horacek is a retired Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance professional. She worked in the banking industry for nearly 25 years. Bibi was the Vice President BSA Risk Manager for City National Bank in Los Angeles and the Vice President BSA Officer for a subsidiary of Citigroup New York. She is a member of the Bel Air Garden Club. Bibi is married to Joseph Horacek III (Joe) who was the founding partner and chair of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips LLP motion picture and television department. Bibi and Joe are longtime residents of Bel-Air. They have been active with both the Bel-Air Association and the Bel Air Homeowners Alliance to protect the safety of Bel-Air residents by advocating responsible land use development in the community.
