Total Lunar Eclipse - Sunday, May 15th

Griffith Observatory is hosting an online broadcast of the total lunar eclipse on May 15, 2022, from 7:35 p.m. to 11:50 p.m., weather permitting. The Observatory will also be open to the public that evening for onsite public viewing.  

Eclipse Timeline (PST):

7:41 PM  Moonrise

8:28 PM  Total eclipse begins

9:11 PM  Greatest Eclipse

9:54 PM  Total eclipse ends

During the eclipse, the moon glows with a copper or red color.
