Shawn Bayliss is new Bel-Air Association Executive Director

The Bel-Air Association is pleased to announce Shawn Bayliss as its new Executive Director.  Many of you may know him as the Director of Planning and Legislation for CD5 where he was responsible and held duties for such important issues as:

• planning and land use legislation in the CD5 district;
• oversaw policy development and implementation on key development issues;
• was a key staff member of Councilmember Koretz working on various issues as mansionization, the crack down on party houses, and preservation of hillsides and open spaces; and
• involved in the creation and formation of the Hillside Ordinance, the Baseline Mansionization Ordinance, the Interim Control Ordinance, and working on the Ridgeline Ordinance.

Dan Love, President of the Bel-Air Association, stated, "We are so very pleased to have Shawn join us as Executive Director. He is a highly experienced land use expert and will provide superb support and direction to the Bel-Air Association and all of our residents. We expect that Shawn will guide us through this unprecedented period of change for the Bel-Air neighborhood.  He has lived with every one of the problems and opportunities that have presented themselves to us over the last 3 years.  Shawn  has already been a great help and instrumental in restoring a sense of order, safety and security to our community streets through his service as Director for Planning and Legislation for CD5."

We welcome Shawn, his wife, Stacey, and their son, Mac, into the Bel-Air community family.

There will be a cocktail reception for the Bel-Air Association membership to meet and greet Shawn Bayliss on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at the Hotel Bel-Air, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.  For those Bel-Air residents who are not Bel-Air Association members, we will be happy to sign you up before cocktails.
