BAA finally gets City of LA to focus on repaving Bel-Air streets!

After 45 years of wear and neglect, Stone Canyon Road has been scheduled to be repaired and repaved.

For years, residents have been pushing for the long overdue rehabilitation of this crumbling hillside road, with little progress from the City. However, that recently changed when Association Boardmembers and Staff Members for Councilmember Paul Koretz took a tour of Bel-Air’s oldest roadway during our recent rains. The need for repair was obvious, so Councilmember Koretz was able to get the much-needed infrastructure repair scheduled in short-order. The City of Los Angeles, Department of Public Works, Bureau of Street Services, will begin by tackling Stone Canyon Road, between Rocca Way and Sunset Blvd. Any resident who lives in that stretch should have received a letter with instructions on how this will roll out.

There are many deserving roads in our community that need attention, so the BAA is continuing to put the heat on the City to prioritize our failing streets. With Councilmember Koretz’s continued support, our goal is to get the remainder of Stone Canyon repaved along with several other heavily damaged roads. We will keep you posted keep you posted as more information becomes available. The Bel-Air Association would like to thank Councilman Paul Koretz and his associates Gregory Martayan and Jarrett Thompson for their work on behalf of Bel Air.

In the meantime, if you are a 2022 member, you may call our office and request help with reporting potholes. We can usually help get those filled!
