Another step closer to law: Party House Ordinance passes City's Planning and Land Use Management Committee

The ordinance to provide effective enforcement for out-of-control and unruly house parties is one step closer to becoming law this week, after the Planning and Land Use Management Committee (PLUM) voted unanimously to approve the ordinance. The ordinance would allow the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) greater ability to address massive parties that disturb residential neighborhoods and threaten public safety.

The ordinance, which passed the Public Safety Committee on October 11, allows for escalating fines against the party host and homeowner, as well as a required public posting for 30 days on homes found in violation. Read the draft ordinance here
