City’s Planning and Land Use Management Committee wants to increase the land-use appeal fees 20% and CEQA-related appeals to a whopping $13,538+

On Wednesday, August 15, the City Council’s Planning and Land Use Management Committee (PLUM) recommended that the City Attorney prepare a new ordinance to increase land-use decision appeal fees by 20%.

Additionally, the PLUM Committee wants to charge $13,538 to anyone who appeals a land-use decision on environmental grounds — a serious concern of many Bel-Air residents and a clear discriminatory action for residents without the financial wherewithal to have their voices heard.
