A brush fire broke out on Thursday, June 28, 2018, at approximately 2:30 PM in the vicinity of the 900 block of Bel-Air Road, blocking residents in upper Bel-Air Road for many hours.  Over 100 firefighters responded.  Luckily, winds were not a factor and only 1/4 acre burned.  No injuries and no evacuations.  Firefighters not only had to deal with the difficult terrain by foot, but also had to contend with a hive of bees.

The smoke was detected by Mr. Cory Marcus of Bel-Air Road who quickly alerted LAFD.  The BAA wishes to extend their thanks and gratitude to not only our firefighters but also Mr. Cory Marcus for his quick response.
