LAPD offers Community Police Academy Course in Century City
The Los Angeles Police Department invites you to attend the Community Police Academy. On August 14, 2019, Operations-West Bureau will conduct a Community Police Academy.
This eleven-week course will be held at Fox Towers, 2121 Avenue of the Stars. Los Angeles, CA 90067. The class will meet each Wednesday evening between 6:00 pm and 9:00 pm. The course will conclude with a graduation ceremony. Successful completion of this session will provide community members with the minimum training needed to participate in the Community Volunteer Patrol Program.
The academy is designed to give community members an overview of the Los Angeles Police Department's policies and procedures. The curriculum and teaching methods are similar to our traditional police academy.
Through the Community Police Academy, enrolled students will be encouraged to volunteer at their local police station and build a lasting partnership with the Department. Doing so will greatly contribute to our ultimate goal of reducing crime and improving the quality of life in our neighborhoods.
Each community member must meet the following criteria:
• Must be 18 years or older
• Live or work in Operations-West Bureau
• No prior felony convictions
• No outstanding warrants
• No pending criminal cases
• Must be approved by an Area Commanding Officer
Interested community members should contact Sergeant Scott Alpert at 36921@lapd.online,
or 310-444-0743, or Senior Lead Officer Chris Baker at 39796@lapd.online or 310-444-0740
