Your Safety is a Priority: Apple AirTags Aid Criminals to Stalk Victims and Steal Autos

There is growing evidence that syndicates of criminals are using Apple AirTags to track cars by placing them on a car without the car owner’s knowledge. Victims are then tracked by the criminals to their home, or to a place where they can be robbed, or the car can be stolen.

Accordingly, Apple has launched an app for not only their iPhones, but also for Android phones to help detect AirTags that are close by that are not owned by you. These notifications should be taken seriously if you find the AirTag is following you as you drive.

New features are on the iOS 15.2 by Apple, that was released December 13th, can make it possible to manually track or receive notifications of AirTags nearby that do not belong to you.

AirTag is a way to “keep track of your stuff.” The device can be attached to your keys, or inside your backpack or computer bag. The device is then on the radar in the Find My app, where you can also track down your Apple devices.
