Glitch corrected! Westside Safety and Preparedness Fair - SATURDAY, March 20th, at 9 AM!
We are writing to update you on the status of the 3rd Annual Westside Safety and Preparedness Fair.
We received emails from many of you since March 7th expressing overwhelming support for the fair, confirming the importance to the community of the information we assembled about many different aspects of emergency and disaster preparedness.
The majority of those who contacted us told us they prefer that we make the information available on-demand rather than as a live online event. Most didn’t want to have to choose between equally important concurrent sessions preferring instead to have access to the presentations as their schedules permitted. We listened to your comments and have decided to make the content available on-demand starting tomorrow, Saturday March 20, 2021 at 9am.
Questions and Answers: The on-demand format precludes us from providing live question and answer sessions with the speakers/presenters as originally planned. In place of the live q & a sessions you will be able to submit questions via the fair website between March 20 through April 1st. We will compile the questions submitted and then ask each presenter to provide written responses to the 10 most common questions. We will post both the questions and the answers on the website by April 15th.
Presentations: All of the originally planned presentations have been recorded and will be available for viewing on the website, including the age appropriate presentations for kids. Two of the preentations are not quite ready and will be posted on the website as soon as posisble. At the bottom of this email is a chart showing all the presentations and the website "stage" where you can watch them.
Vendors and sponsors: Please be certain to visit both our vendor and sponsors pages. The vendors are all offering discounts on emergency preparedness supplies as indicated when you click on their virtual booths.
Procedures for giveaways: We will still be giving away emergecny preparedness items via curbside pick-up to start or add to your emergency kits.
1. Watch 2 or more presentations on the fair website between March 20 and April 10th to qualify to receive a giveaway bag.
2. Only one giveaway bag per family while supplies last. (We have a limited supply of these items and ask that you respect the one bag per family limitation.)
3. The giveaway bags will be given to fair attendees on a first come first served basis the day of the giveaway, while supplies last.
4. The giveaways will be distributed via curbside pick-up on April 11th at a location to be announced.
Thank you for your patience and understanding while we worked out the issues that caused the fair to be called off on the 7th.
Thank you and be safe,
