LA TIMES Editorial: "It's about time California put the brakes on new housing developments in high-fire risk areas"

With the introduction in the California Legislature of Senate Bill 9 and Senate Bill 10, whose intent is to remove all local zoning — even in Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zones (VHFHSZ) — with regard to development under the guise of “housing” — note NOT “affordable housing” — there is growing concern about the public safety in the hillsides.
