It is important to note that since Hadid claims not to have money to pay for the demo and the City does not want to pay for it either, the Judge Craig Karlan appointed a Receiver, Douglas Wilson. The Receiver put the property on the market early this year to fund demolition with the proceeds from the sale.
The property is on escrow right now. The potential buyer’s due diligence period must be completed by July 1, 2021, with closing as soon as possible thereafter.
