METRO IS PLANNING TO REPLACE THE 405 HOV LANES WITH TOLL LANES

These could narrow existing lanes through the Sepulveda Pass and slow traffic.  We also worry how lower-income people could afford to use these lanes.

Please review Metro's announcement below, watch the StoryMap, and read the post.  Try to attend one of the Metro Virtual Scoping Meetings.

This is your only chance to express your concerns and Metro won’t accept comments after September 1st.

Please Provide your Feedback!

Metro, in coordination with Caltrans, is initiating an Environmental Impact Report (EIR)/Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the proposed I-405 Sepulveda Pass ExpressLanes project. The EIR/EIS will evaluate alternatives to convert the existing high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes to dynamically-priced, high-occupancy toll (HOT) lanes, also called ExpressLanes, in the southbound and northbound directions of the I-405 Sepulveda Pass, between I-10 and US-101.

As part of the project’s environmental process, a formal 30-day public scoping comment period has been initiated with the posting of the Notice of Preparation and will run through Wednesday, September 1, 2021. During this period, you are encouraged to submit your thoughts and comments on the alternatives, as well as help identify and inform the issues that may need to be addressed in the environmental process.

Three virtual public scoping meetings will be offered to provide information on the project and solicit public feedback on the project alternatives and issues or concerns with the proposed project. Each meeting will offer Spanish interpretation and will feature the same presentation. Following the presentation, there will be an opportunity for attendees to provide oral comments during the scheduled meeting time. We will try to accommodate as many comments as possible based on time and capacity constraints. The scoping meetings will be held online on Zoom and may be accessed as follows:
