At a court hearing on February 23, 2022, The court-appointed Receiver of 901 Strada Vecchia, Douglas Wilson, told Judge Karlan demolition is in progress and scheduled for completion by June. Mr. Wilson did not say demolition will be delayed. The new owner, Sahara Construction, has confirmed this to neighbors who have been impacted by the illegal structure at 901 Strada Vecchia..

However, the Receiver is extremely frustrated and has hit a wall with the LA Tax Assessor who is valuing former-owner Mohamed Hadid’s half-built structure at $30 million instead of $8.7 million.

The Receiver is now in the process of arranging a mediation meeting between the Tax Assessor and Judge Karlan.
