MySafe:LA — The NEW Los Angeles Fire Safe Council Holds Its First Webinar
The webinar was hosted by MySafe:LA’s David Barrett, Executive Director, Luis Fierro, Wildfire County Coordinator, and Chris Nevil, Captain, Field Operations.
The webinar included introductions to the LA Fire Safe Council, listened to public comment, a presentation on the new Los Angeles County Fire Safe Council, it’s scope of work related to wildfire, short and mid-term objectives. There was a presentation on the Los Angeles Wildfire Resilience Alliance, presented by LA City Fire Department Deputy Chief Trevor Richmond. Hot topics were addressed and noted for future meetings that included evacuation concerns, insurance discounts and community drills.
The Council included a historical presentation on the Bel-Air fire (November 6-7, 1961) and how it changed Los Angeles.
