"The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is aware that a small hate espousing group centered in the Mid-West, posted on social media during the initial days of 2023, proclaiming Saturday, February 25, 2023 to be a "National Day of Hate." At his time, the LAPD has not received any information on demonstrations or activities planned for the greater Los Angeles Area. As the weekend approaches, we will be closely monitoring the situation and are committed to openly communicating any updates to the diverse communities that live, work and worship in Los Angeles. In the meantime, please rest assured that each of your local police stations will be providing additional police presence near community gathering points and places of worship.
Los Angeles prides itself on being an inclusive city that openly welcomes individuals from every nationality, religion, and ideology. As the protectors of this diverse community, it is the LAPD's mission to ensure that every person feels safe and secure to express their individual freedoms. For that reason, we proudly stand against hate, bigotry and discrimination of any kind.
If at any time you feel in fear or find yourself in danger, please do not hesitate to call 9-1-1 or contact your nearest community police stations. While it is our job to solemn duty to keep this City safe, we cannot realize our goal without help from the communities we serve.
