LA Department City Planning Message: Public Comments extended to August 22, 2022 for Wildlife Ordinance

Dear Wildlife Ordinance Stakeholder,

City Planning staff continues to receive a great number of comments, questions, and letters of support as well as concern about the proposed Wildlife Ordinance. City Planning is working to address comments received at and following the Public Hearing held on July 13, 2022, in anticipation of a hearing before the City Planning Commission (CPC) in Fall 2022. The date for the CPC hearing is not currently set.

One topic we have received many questions about has been the research and scientific sources that staff reviewed throughout the preparation of the proposed Wildlife Ordinance. In response, City Planning has compiled a comprehensive index of reference materials consulted throughout the Wildlife Ordinance preparation. This index of sources has been posted to the Wildlife Ordinance webpage, and can also be accessed directly here.

Additionally, recordings of the Wildlife Public Hearing held on July 13, 2022, have been posted on the Outreach and Events page of the Wildlife webpage. City Planning will continue to work on responding to comments and concerns from the public throughout the adoption process for this ordinance. Please feel free to continue to send your comments to ourla2040@lacity.org.

Please note, the date for submitting comments has been extended to August 22, 2022, at 5 p.m. For comments to be considered in the revisions to recommendations to the CPC, send comments to ourla2040@lacity.org. After August 22, comments can still be submitted directly to the CPC.

Thank you for your continued engagement with Los Angeles City Planning.
