Meet Dexter! He’s looking for his forever home!

Hi there, excellent humans!! My name’s Dexter dog! My favorite things in the world are going for walks, food, belly rubs, and being with my human!

One of your members pulled me out of the shelter several months ago, because I’d been hit by a car, had pelvic and leg fractures, couldn’t walk, and was about to be euthanized. I had orthopedic surgeries from a specialist at a great vet hospital, got neutered (ouch!), and got all my shots. I’m a healthy boy, and a great healer, and now I run like the wind!!

My rescuer can’t keep me permanently, so I’m looking for a great forever home with one of you kind and loving folks. I weigh in at 19 lbs, and the vets say I’m about 3 years old. I think I’m a Jack Russell-dachshund mix, but who can say for sure!!?

I'm very interested in people, but still a little scared of new ones after everything I’ve been through. I need a little time to get to know someone, but once I know them, I wag my tail so hard when I see them that it almost falls off!!

Because I get lonely when my human isn't around, I'd probably be happiest living with someone who works from home, or a retired person. I'd probably also be good with kids who are old enough to be gentle with me -- maybe ten years old and up -- because I like lots of attention!!

I'm a good boy, and I love life! Would your home be the right one for me?

Please reach out to Christina at the BAA by email at christina@belairassociation.org or by phone on (310) 474-3527 if you'd like to learn more or come meet me.
