Meeting with Alphonzo Bell’s Grandson Ralph Tingle

Executive Director, Shawn Bayliss is currently working with David Silverman (LA House Histories) on an updated and expanded book on Bel-Air’s beginnings, growth and impact over the past 100 years. Recently, we had the pleasure of meeting with Ralph Tingle, Grandson of Alphonzo Bell, who called Bel-Air home through the 1930’s and 1940’s. Tingle shared his fond memories of the neighborhood, which we can’t wait to share with you.

For anyone with old Bel-Air photos, memorabilia, or artifacts we would love the opportunity to experience them. In the past residents have shared their memories of events or specific properties, with some kindly donating items that further the telling of the Bel-Air story. This book is only possible if there is interest and resources, so please reach out to Shawn Bayliss at Shawn@BelAirAssociation.org or call (310) 474-3527.
