Neighboring hillside community Laurel Canyon successfully purchases a 17-acre parcel for $1.6 million

With the goal of preserving a major wildlife corridor and source of biodiversity, Laurel Canyon finally completed the sale of 17-acre parcel that is between Lookout Mountain Avenue and Stanley Hills Drive as the result of the two-year “Let’s Buy a Mountain” non-profit donation campaign lead by Citizens for Los Angeles Wildlife (CLAW) and the Laurel Canyon Association.  Plans include to turn the land over to the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority for management and permanent preservation.
