LADWP West Gate road closure for Leg 3 of 4 utility upgrade project expected to finish up next week

The West Gate of Bel-Air is still impacted by the utility upgrade project by LADWP. If one looks at the electronic signs, it appears the Leg 3 portion of the project is expected to be completed by December 20.

Beginning in January 2020:

• LEG 4: Commencement date will be in January 2020 and end in February 2020. There will be full road closure on Chalon Road between Roscomare Road and Chantilly Road.

Here is a reprint of LADWP’s statement to the community about the project and the upcoming January road closures for Leg 4:

Dear Bel Air Residents and Stakeholders,

Construction on Bellagio Road will continue through the end of this year. Currently, crews are working on Bellagio Road just north of Sunset (on the west side of the Bel-Air Country Club) to Chalon Road. This will be a full road closure of Bellagio Road, including a small portion of Bellagio Place and Funchal Road.

For residents who live within this road closure: Local Access Passes will be distributed to facilitate ingress and egress. Each household will receive 5 Local Access Passes for family members and designated visitors. Trash service will not be disrupted and deliveries will be allowed.

Work hours are Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm, plus Saturdays 7am to 7pm. There will be no construction on Sundays or holidays. Emergency vehicles will be allowed to pass through the construction zone and flaggers will assist with traffic flow. We will be excavating and trenching – similar to the type of construction that was done on Sunset Blvd over the summer – so please allow extra time to navigate around construction and drive slowly. See attachment page 1 for detour route.

Note that after Bellagio Road construction is completed, we will begin construction on Chalon Road between Roscomare Road and Chantilly Road. The Chalon portion of work will begin after the New Year in 2020. See attachment page 2. Local Access Passes for homes located in the Chalon Road closure will be distributed at a later date.

Please contact us if you have any questions. Thank you.
