Community-Police Advisory Board (C-PAB) Meeting next Wednesday, July 1st, at 2 PM

The next Community-Police Advisory Board (C-PAB) ZOOM meeting will be Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at 2:00 PM. If you wish to participate in the next meeting, please contact Robert Ringler at ringler@mac.com.

Notes from last C-PAB meeting:

• Grand Theft Auto is up across the city. Important to note that 50% of these thefts are because victims have left their keys/FOB keys in the car.

• Car burglaries are on the increase as well.

Tips from LAPD:

Keep keys out of car, remove all valuable — or non-valuables from car, park your car in your garage (if you have one) and don’t forget to lock you garage, too! If you don’t have a garage, park your car in a well-lighted area. MAKE YOUR CAR A HARD TARGET FOR THIEVES!

• In West LA Division, there were 9 burglaries (5 at single family dwellings, 3 at condos and 1 at a public storage facility).

Tips:

• For homeowners, an audible alarm system (sounds an alarm) is a good deterrent; install cameras that WORK; install motion sensor lights; bring your mail in regularly.

• For condos, have the US Postal Service arrow key changed, change your passcode into condo building regularly, make sure packages are delivered to a secured area (like a Managers office if there is one), notify neighbors if there is a package for them in the lobby or public area, find a trusted neighbor who will keep an eye on things if you are not around (don’t tell every neighbor—just a trusted one).
