Sepulveda Transit Corridor: Metro Board of Directors hear pre-development agreement reports with two firms

On February 25, 2021, the Metro’s Board of Directors received a report, staff presentation and heard public comment on the upcoming Pre-development Agreement (“PDA”) with two firms for the Sepulveda Transit Corridor project that will run between the San Fernando Valley and the Westside.

METRO Board Chairperson, Eric Garcetti, announced before the Item was discussed that there would be no decision made at that meeting — it was just informational and an opportunity to ask questions and take public comment.

One firm, STCP Bechtel, develops a heavy rail option, the other, LA SkyRail Express, a monorail option. The idea is to lay the groundwork for a potential public-private partnership in which one of the firms supplies financing and builds the project. The contracts are scheduled to be considered by the Board next month. Staff report and a more in-depth explanation at this Source post.
