ARE YOU READY FOR A WILDFIRE?
It is advised that the trees and vegetation listed below be removed from the defensible space area around structures.
Defensible space is the buffer between your structure and the surrounding area. Adequate defensible space acts as a barrier to slow or halt the progress of fire that would otherwise engulf your property. It also helps ensure the safety of firefighters defending your home.
100 feet of defensible space is required under public resources code 4291.
Flying embers can destroy homes up to a mile ahead of a wildfire. Prepare (harden) your home.
Fire-resistant landscaping requires careful plant selection, placement, spacing, and maintenance to help resist the spread of fire to your home.
Thank you to MySafeLA for providing the BAA with helpful information to prepare for a wildfire.
