Save the Date: BBSC hearing on 901 Strada Vecchia - June 26, 2018
Why is LADBS ignoring the BBSC clear mandate on Hadid's 901 Strada Vecchia?
On April 8, 2015, the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety (LADBS) issued two orders to comply to 901 Strada Vecchia which state that if no permits or approvals were obtained by April 22, 2015, for the unauthorized structures, Hadid must “demolish and remove all unauthorized, unapproved construction and restore the site to its approved state.”
Hadid appealed both of the Orders to the Los Angeles Board of Building and Safety Commissioners (BBSC), and also sought a two-year extension of time in order to attempt to obtain after-the-fact permits for the development.
On June 10, 2015, the BBSC rejected Hadid’s appeal “with prejudice.” The ruling was “final.”
Inexplicably, LADBS has failed to enforce their own orders of April 8, 2015 and the final ruling from the BBSC which directed Hadid to demolish and remove all illegal construction from the site. Why?
901 Strada Vecchia is a public nuisance. On June 26 join Bel-Air residents to communicate a clear message to the BBSC in holding LADBS accountable for enforcing their own orders.
